1. Pay attention to the service life of the color card.
The commonly used materials for color cards are paper or plastic products. Aging effects will inevitably occur after prolonged use. Daily use and exposure can make colors inaccurate. Therefore, no matter how high-quality the color card is, it needs to be replaced regularly.
2. Principles of color card use
When using the color card for color matching, avoid excessive contact, reduce paper friction and light pollution. When the natural oils of our fingertips come into contact with the color card, it may cause the color card to be stained or the paint is lost, and the friction between the pages may also cause the color card to be scratched. And some pigment color cards will accelerate fading under strong light.
3. The principle of color card storage
Due to the material of the color card, in a humid environment, the aging of the paper will be accelerated. Therefore, the color card should usually be stored in a dry and ventilated environment, and the surrounding environment should be kept clean.
It is recommended to update the color card guide every 12 to 18 months depending on usage and storage habits.
